Mother of the Flowers

This photograph is created by Meliibees. Meliibees is a multidisciplinary artist and curator from The Netherlands. Being a child of the diaspora who grew up far away from her roots, she likes to explore her heritage in her artworks. This photograph series is called Mother of the Flowers, where Rwandan singer-songwriter Kaya Byinshii is the muse. Kaya explores various genres such as neo-soul, RnB, Reggae and Rwandan traditional music. With her outstanding voice, she takes the listener on a journey to her own world. She released her debut EP "Nyabyinshi" in 2020 and her first album "Ukwiyuburura" in 2022.
