Mother's Day

Although the face of the mother is not visible in the illustration, from the back of her head alone we can see the everlasting love, the strong commitment to protect her child. The expression of the child, at peace in its mother’s arms, is also noteworthy for its complete innocence. “Parents just cannot help but touch their children,” Chihiro once said. “I touched my own child when bringing him up. And their grip; that strength gives me such joy. You cannot capture such movements by simply sketching them from observation.”
