Mourn for the Ancient Tree(古树祭) was created in 1999, when a giant tree in Tianmu Mountain National Forest Reserves was stolen. After learning this news, two artists immediately rushed to the crime scene out of strong sense of responsibility and occupation sensitivity. The artists made ink rubbing of the cross section of the stolen ancient trees. The artist spared no effort to draw the public’s attention and remind the people the urgency of ecological environment protection.
