The name “Uradaisen” refers to the south face of Mt. Daisen, a large trapezoid wall of rock. This head-on painting of the south face captures the scenery from the vicinity of the Kagikake Pass in Kofu, Tottori. Here Idani depicts Mt. Daisen, a central motif for the painter in his later life, drenched in the sunlight of the late fall, mainly using shades of red and purple.
