This piece depicts peaceful daily life, with a cow sprawled out upon the ground. A folk house she encountered as she crossed the continent from the high-altitude city of Bangalore, 900m above sea level in the state of Karnataka, to Madras on the eastern coast, serves as the subject for this piece. As described by Akino, “The walls of the home were in the middle of being painted, giving off a very modern feeling.” It seems that the front door and a portion of the walls had been completed, but there were still areas with only the groundwork, paradoxically making it appear quite novel. The cow is depicted with an almost transparent color, making it blend into the corner of the wall.
