Bologna's Museo della Musica boasts a rich collection of musical instruments, many of which were part of the 1888 Great Emilian Exhibition. This exhibition, celebrating the 800th anniversary of the University of Bologna, included a dedicated pavilion for music, the Palazzo della Musica, which could hold 2,000 people. Today, the museum showcases a diverse collection, including unique pieces like the Clavemusicum omnitonum and the Pleyel piano of Gioachino Rossini. From Renaissance lutes and harps to Baroque trumpets and flutes, including the Armonia di flauti (which allows a single musician to play five flutes at once), a heckelphone, a dragon-shaped buccina, and one of the first instruments built by Adolphe Sax, amongst many others. (Fondo Belluzzi, Album II, n. 80 - Museo civico del Risorgimento, Bologna)
