In 1927 the Aurora production was enriched by the introduction of a new model, the Duplex, with a ring-mounted ball clip and a black hard rubber cap head.
The name of the new pen was chosen with a competition whose prize was 30,000 lire: the closure took place on 30 April 1927 and the name chosen was "Alata", which however did not please the company too much and opted for Duplex instead.
The series was renewed at the end of 1927 with the introduction of new unbreakable models made of celluloid, renamed by the company Aurolite, also following the behavior adopted by American producers of giving a fictional name to celluloid. However, the new colored celluloid pens continued to be combined with the red ebonite version.
