Myra Hemmings (right) visits St. Phillips Episcopal Church along with Past National Delta Sigma Theta Sorority President, Elsie Austin of Cincinnati, Ohio (left) in 1965. Local Deltas were one of seven chapters selected across the country to pilot an educational enrichment program for underserved children. The award-winning program included free health care, meals and other services also and was a joint venture with federal, state and local agencies.
