A detail of Nannorrhops richteiana, a species native to northern India, Afghanistan and Pakistan, is unmistakable for its creeping stems that look like a snake. The specimen present in the Botanical Garden in the Palm Collection has stems over 12 m long and it is the largest known in the world.
