Marked by its round collar, the gwanbok was the official uniform worn by government officials. Ever since the Silla Kingdom introduced the official uniform system from the Tang Dynasty of China, gwanbok was worn until the Joseon Dynasty. With an official hat, belt and embroidered patches as a set, different types of uniforms were worn for different occasions: gongbok as the official robe for an audience with the king, sangbok as daily official clothing and sibok as official work robes.
