National Theatre c) Wilfried Hösl

At the age of 14, Karl von Fischer came to Munich from Mannheim. At the age of 20, he was awarded the contract to build the National Theatre. He died in 1820 at the age of 38, probably worn down by the quarrels over his new theatre building. Apart from the National Theatre, the Prinz-Carl-Palais at the end of the Hofgarten has been preserved in Munich.
