This item of jewelry is an illustration of traditional necklaces. The piece consists of 21 strands of coral beads of different lengths and a strand of 11 coins. They connected by strings wrapped together at both ends and tied in a knot around the neck. The coral strands form a sort of dickey: the closer to the neckline, the shorter the coral stands. Some of the stands display insertions of “ring beads” (oval metal beads showing a central bulge or coral beads with a metal ring in the middle) and a Venetian glass bead inserted in the middle. Three of coins are Turkish icosar and the others are Austrian krone dated 1841, 1880, 1881, 1893, 1896, 1915. Some of the coins are a later addition to the necklace.
