Necklace

This pendant is an amulet made from white amber with a round hole. Feliksas Daukantas (1915-1995) was the first person in Lithuania to publicize the natural characteristics of amber, such as its transparency, changing shades and multiple layers. His jewellery items are light and minimalistic. He uses only minimal processing, leaving unpolished parts, gaps, and patches with a matte finish. Sometimes he would frame his works, but often he would leave them to hang naturally. When processing a piece of amber, he would try to give it shapes that were found in nature – a streamlined oval drop shape, or round-shaped.
