The NeuroArts Blueprint initiative is designed to articulate an emerging, cross-disciplinary area of study at the intersection of science, technology, and the arts, and use it in service to individual and collective health and well-being.
By deepening our understanding of how aesthetic experiences and the arts measurably change the brain and body, neuroarts helps tackle the problems of chronic and degenerative disease, mental health challenges, trauma, and addiction that have long seemed intractable. The field draws together pioneers who can translate research-based knowledge into interventions, programs, and policies of value in the clinic, home, workplace, and community.
A roadmap for moving forward, the NeuroArts Blueprint will offer recommendations for expanding neuroarts research, practice, policy and financial resources and point the way towards rapid growth over the next decade. Johns Hopkins International Arts + Mind Lab Center for Applied Neuroaesthetics and the Aspen Institute’s Health, Medicine and Society Program are partnering on the NeuroArts Blueprint.
