One of the first artists to take part in Modernism, Cícero Dias began his production with watercolors, in which he showed landscapes of dreams, with characters sometimes floating. In France, was influenced by Abstractionism, and from there went through various phases. The watercolors "In the Mood of the Afternoon" (1929), still shows the environment of the farm, the sugar mill of Pernambuco; the geometric work, on the other hand, (1962) is an example of his phase within Geometric Abstractionism. In turn, the untitled works and "Woman and Couple", are examples of geometric figurative production, begun in the 1970's.
