Noh mask Yase (emaciated)-onna (woman)

This is a hollow-cheeked mask of a woman. Unlike other spirit masks, the eyes don’t have inserted metal or vermilion coloring. However, this is not just an emaciated woman, but a spirit. The vacant look reveals the misery of the spirit whose mind is not at rest.
