In the Integration Facility at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Expedition 52-53 backup crewmember Norishige Kanai of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency suits up in his Russian Sokol launch and entry suit July 17 during a fit check dress rehearsal. Kanai, Alexander Misurkin of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Mark Vande Hei of NASA are serving as backups to the prime crew, Paolo Nespoli of the European Space Agency, Sergey Ryazanskiy of Roscosmos and Randy Bresnik of NASA, who will launch July 28 on the Soyuz MS-05 spacecraft for a five-month mission on the International Space Station.
