Now I See You is a project born out of the necessity to understand a chaotic, unsettled and uncertain world; and the attempt to resignify the sense of familiarity within a heightened state of isolation. Using costume rendering processes and techniques, this project seeks to document the visual narratives of ordinary people who have come to represent the nostalgia of the quotidian prior to the pandemic. Clothing can communicate powerful visual narratives and myriad meanings of people and cultures. It is also strongly associated with our affective memory; a universe of extraordinary and extratextual significance; one that allows us to reconnect with people, once again to see them, while they wait behind a mask.
You are all set!
