The series of work entitled 'NUDS' consist of pairs of tan nylon tights which have been stuffed with fluff and fashioned into ambiguous, biomorphic forms, which rest on stacks of breeze blocks set atop simple wooden pedestals. While these sculptures bear some formal resemblance to the artist's 1997 work 'Bunny Gets Snookered', in which sagging hosiery summoned up a woman's splayed legs, they are not so securely gendered. Resembling at once hot flesh and cold stone, they are not quite male, or female, or even quite human.
