An extremely elegant knee-length dress. Slightly low-cut, fitted bodice and voluminous skirt. Three-quarter kimono sleeves. Decorated at the waist with a grey silk twill flower.
Made in Paris, and presented in the 1958 winter collection. This is a dress of sober elegance, in which the silhouette resembles the style of Dior’s “corolla” line, also known as the “new look”, with rounded shoulders, wasp waist and full skirt. The lace hugs the silhouette, which together with the flower, are the only decorative elements. That same year, Balenciaga created the “baby doll” line.
