  • Artist's Note: My work is about two sides or opposite sides such as, the outside and the inside or the kernel and the shell. In 2008 and 2009, I made plans for the Parasite project while working on the outside and the inside using tapes. Here, I am concentrating on the resulting images of the internal reaction in this Project. Starting with the Parasite Project #1 of 2010, I earnestly got to work and exhibited it in 2011. I started the second story of the Parasite project entitled, 'Pang!'. In this Project, I am developing the story of the outside and the inside using the resulting images. Cracks and transformations are formed from a reaction on the inside and then are exposed on the outside. The word ‘Pang’ is derived from the physical and psychological pain and agony that occurs violently and all of the sudden. It refers to an external phenomenon from an internal reaction, which is exposed through the cracked surface or explosion. A stress is formed within the hidden framework and builds up until one day a phenomenon occurs. The outside, physical framework, which is no longer bearable, is destroyed and transformed and ultimately, new images are formed. There is a contained space, hidden and protected until the outside cannot bear itself anymore. It cracks, bursts out and occasionally, creates something in an aggressive form. I documented my exploration by showing the image’s results of this reaction, the cracks and transformations. The outcome created is intended for the viewer to think about the situations, reasons or processes that led to the phenomena.
