The offering bearer scene is from the chapel of Akhet-hotep (D64) at Saqqara, which was one of the principal burial grounds for elite officials during the Old Kingdom period. The tomb, located to the west of the step pyramid of Djoser, is a large funerary complex devoted to the 5th Dynasty vizier Akhethotep and his son Ptahhotep/Tchefu. The photograph shows three male offering bearers bringing carrying various food items towards Akhet-hotep seated before an offering table, all carved in raised relief. The scene appears in the first register, or row, of offering bearers in the offering scene on the chapel's north wall.
The first male figure is named *Sšm-nfr* ‘Seshem-nefer', and carries a large goose, spring onions and lotus flowers in his arms. The second male figure, labelled *sꜢ=f sms.w mr.y=f Ṯfw* ‘his eldest son, his beloved, Tchefu’, carries bundles of lettuce and a pile of figs on a tray and a papyrus garland also suspended from a pole.
