Recruiting officers, railway staff and Anglican army chaplain Canon David John Garland, on the railway station of a Queensland town. A poster behind the group shows a wounded soldier with message: 'An appeal from the Dardanelles.' As honorary secretary of the Queensland Recruiting Committee, Garland was instrumental in organising a number of recruiting trains to travel throughout the state, rallying young men to enlist.
