On Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at 7:44 p.m. local time, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck near the town of Cushing, Oklahoma. Numerous buildings were damaged by the temblor, but only a few minor injuries were reported. Cushing is home to one of the world's largest oil storage terminals; no damage was reported to the petroleum facilities. A star marks the epicenter of the earthquake,which occurred at a depth of 3.1 miles (5 kilometers).
