Talli is an old traditional Emirati craft of hand woven braid using a special technique such as bobbin lace. This profession was traditionally practiced by Emirati women at their homes and was used to decorate the collars, hem and cuffs of clothes. However it was restricted to Emirati families only, and therefore began to fade as a result of modernity that brought huge productions of ready-made textiles and embroidery
