Old Tree

An old pruned tree in an agricultural landscape, possibly in early spring.

Holmboe was mostly inspired by art nouveau and german Jugend, but some of his work also shows some influence from Japonism, a fascination of Japanese art where we often see the pruned tree in the spring as a motif similar to this one.
