In a video installation divided into three chapters,
filmed by director Davide Ferrario (author
of many films such as Tutti giù per terra, Figli di
Annibale, Guardami and Dopo mezzanotte),
Umberto Eco reflects on the central theme of
Codice Italia: memory. He reveals unexpected
aspects, intertwining autobiographical memories
and literary and philosophical references,
merging historical episodes with moments of
recent history. A film that is also an essay,
spaced by primitive film sequences and frames
lifted from our times.
