In a video installation divided into three chapters, filmed by director Davide
Ferrario (author of many films such as Tutti giù per terra, Figli di Annibale,
Guardami and Dopo mezzanotte), Umberto Eco – one of the greatest personalities
of Italian culture – reflects on the central theme of Codice Italia:
memory. He reveals unexpected aspects, intertwining autobiographical
memories and literary and philosophical references, merging historical
episodes with moments of recent history. A film that is also an essay,
spaced by primitive film sequences and frames lifted from our times.
