On the verge of a scientific breakthrough at the time, Dr J Craig Venter presented his work at the 2010 Design Indaba Conference via live satellite link from La Jolla, California. Besides explaining and discussing his work, he also offers insights into the social and design applications of synthetic biology.

Filmed in February 2010, certain telling predictions are made, which are now all the more significant. Just three months later, Venter successfully created life from a synthetic genome. Dr J Craig Venter (PhD) is founder, chairman and president of the J Craig Venter Institute.
