The embroidered motif on this pillow end presents blessings for marital bliss. The square depicts a pair of phoenixes flying around a blossoming peony, representing the wish for a harmonious marriage (shuangfeng heming) full of wealth, rank, and good fortune (fugui jixiang). When the king of birds (phoenix) is paired with the king of flowers (peony), together they promise great blessings.
