Dancer by the Viennese sculptor Carl Kauba (1865 - 1922). Here we see another of the predominant themes in Vienna bronzes, eroticism. This piece is automatic, it has a wind-up mechanism that allows it to spin on its leg creating a realistic and sensual effect evoking an oriental dance. The nude figure is adorned with a set of bronze jewelry, including an impressive gold belt with chained pendants.
