Located near JR Tottori station, the Tottori Folk Crafts Museum continues to showcase the many folk craft items from Japan, Korea, China, Mexico and western cultures collected by Yoshida, as well as his own creations of folk crafts that include furniture and dishware. The TAKUMI Folk Art Shop next-door also showcases and sells folk crafts not only from the San’in region (where Tottori is), but also from all around Japan and the world. The Takumi Japanese restaurant next to the museum offers dishes, including “Susugi nabe” Tottori beef hotpot devised by Yoshida himself, using local ingredients and served in folk dishware made in various parts of Japan. The restaurant has become more frequented by foreign visitors in recent years.
