P-47 “Thunderbolt” Aircraft Model

This P-47 model is extra special to the Museum as it is in the personal colors of Lt. Charlie Mohrle, 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group who flew 97 combat missions during World War II. Charlie volunteered over 12,000 hours at the Museum as he believed it was important to tell his story to young visitors. Charlie passed away in May 2013, and is missed by all his friends at the Museum.
