Paco Luis Martos has revived the craft of Mudejar coffered ceilings, both by creating new designs and by restoring and conserving ceilings that are part of the national heritage. He stands out for the promotion and valorisation of Mudejar coffered ceilings in the 21st century, in the international market of handcrafted ornamental structures. Another important aspect of his work is his special attention and commitment to the environment and waste management. Paco Luis Martos uses wood with sustainability certificates or, where appropriate, recycled wood from demolition sites, as well as water-based paints and natural products that are environmentally friendly. He is also actively involved in sharing his knowledge, training apprentices in his workshop and giving lectures and hands-on workshops throughout Spain. His work can be seen in luxurious mansions on the West Coast of the United States, as well as in Qatar, Bahrain and Dubai. Paco was awarded the Richard H. Driehaus Building Arts Award in 2020.
