Page to Stage: Costume Design for Performance showcases designs and garments from the QPAC Museum collection.
The costume designer analyses the text or scenario and, in consultation with the director and set designer if this is a separate person, an overall concept for the production is developed. Sketches are made and these sketches become the blueprints for the costume makers.
When the costumes are complete, and hair and makeup added, the final ‘look’ of the character emerges for both the performer and the audience.
