The Tragedy of King Richard the Second, was directed by Michael Gow, and designed by Robert Kemp for the Queensland Theatre Company in 2001.

Against the rough brick back wall of the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre a pageant of jewelled courtiers assembled to act out the fall of Richard II. The production recreated the extravagant life of the king and his courtiers with detailed and elaborate costumes which contrasted with the roughly textured setting. This red jersey doublet and hose were worn under the king's red and gold robe.
