Paint analysis of Hut 3 exterior

The exterior cladding of Hut 3 comprised a complex build up of paint layers and later cement render skim. The original paint finish consisted of a cream lead based undercoat with a mid green lead paint applied over it. If you look very closely you can see that the surface of the green paint has small cracks and fissures caused by weathering. This indicates that the paint finish was not painted over for quite some time.
