'Paintings with Flower Decorations by Constance Spry', on display at the Cooling Galleries, 92 New Bond Street, London.
Spry writes in 'Winter and Spring Flowers', " There is something particularly satisfying about a well-arranged vase of rich, shining evergreens, but they must be clean and shining and by no means in the least dusty. Before putting this branch of foliage into its vase each leaf was gently massaged with a damp cloth so that the high, polished lights might be seen to full advantage. This is important with all such leaves arranged indoors."
