Once a sex is assigned, we presume the child's gender, but while gender may begin with the assignment of sex, it doesn't end there. Recognition of various psychological phenomena and advances in medical science have improved our understanding of the fluidity of gender but have simultaneously created a plethora of confusion and controversy. This panel explored the physical, identity and social dimensions of gender. This panel was moderated by Arit Okpo and the panelists included; Emmanuela David-Ette, Babalwa Mstshawu and Tom.
