Religion is an integral part of every society but many African societies now consider the indigenious religions to be 'diabolic' and lacking in sophistication. In recent years however, we have witnessed a rise in a fanatical strain of Christianity and Islam which themselves have proved harmful to the wider society. This panel (Omitonade, Ifawemimo, Freedom Onuoha, Xavier Moyet, Hauwa Ibrahim) evaluated the impact of Christianity and Islam on Nigerian society while examining the qualities of traditional religion and their place and relevance in modern Nigerian society.
