Fabric panel with a flower and parrots

Quadrangular fabric panel with multiple overlaying layers on which a central floral motif with four parrots and geometric motifs between the petals on a burgundy background has been created through the cutout. Once on the tourist market, this textile created for women's traditional clothing is used as decorative wall element because of the beauty of its colours and the peculiarity of its production technique. The traditional technique involves overlapping cotton layers of different colours; the design is obtained by carving up to the desired colour layer and the different layers are kept together by simple stitches and embroidery.
