For the acquisition of 360° moving image material, various high-resolution 360° panoramic cameras were developed at the Institute for Visual Media from 1998 to 2004 under the direction of Jeffrey Shaw and later by Bernd Lintermann. 4 prototypes of the camera were developed, with various artistic projects were realized. The last prototype shown here contains 24 frame-synchronous cameras that record a dome-shaped moving image.
