Lukas - Art in Flanders
Gent, België

During WWII, the Ghent Altarpiece was kept by the Germans in the Altaussee mine, Austria, along with many other masterpieces seized all across Europe by the Nazi administration. You can see here one of the rooms which were used as an art depot inside the mine. The salt mine consisted of several galleries, such as the "Oberst Kammergrafenwerk" and the “Springerwerk”.
