The vessel has a globular upper part and a conically narrowed lower part that is based on a flat bottom. The spiral incised ornament with pits is interpreted as a stylized image of snakes with eyes. Spiral snake compositions belong to lunar symbolism. They reflect the endless movement in the space of the Universe. Pear-shaped vessels with a similar ornament embody the image of the Great Goddess wrapped in snakes. The sacral significance of such artifacts is emphasized by the findings of charred human bones in them.
