Arthur Garguromin Verona (1867–1946), Romanian painter with Macedo-Romanian origins, studied at Munich Academy of Fine Arts and at Julian Academy in Paris. He asserted himself as a painter in Romania in the last decade of the 19th century, being attracted by the wonderful works of Nicolae Grigorescu, who inspired him to paint peasant people in plein-air style.
Here, we have a female character in foreground, wearing national costume, laying on grass, with a tilted birch at the left.
