Scale ship model of the U.S. Navy combat vessel PENSACOLA CA 1930. Made by South Salem Studios, NY. One in a set of Teacher Models which were scale models of U.S. Navy combat vessels used to teach ship recognition to naval personnel. The models were presented to FDR by the US Navy. FDR, in turn, gave them to his grandson Curtis Roosevelt for Christmas 1943. Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library Museum Collection.
