As viewers we represent a chaotic reality's point of convergence. In Taylor-Wood's composition, five people approach the audience with unrestrained despair and alienation. By heeding the seizures of each dialogue we can discover those joints of language where each individual establishes a point of contact with another. The tip of a thread appears slowly in the eye of the needle, forcing the individual to regain his or her presence within the logic of a scheduled existence. In a piece fragmented into five visions of a kind of postmodern Tourette's syndrome, the artist first imposes confusion upon an idea of order, and then reveals at the end of the rope the magical and impossible coordination of chaos.
