Permanent exhibit “Vrbas – Man and Nature, the harmony of coexistence”, Gallery View Art History 3
Town museum Vrbas exhibits the paintings and personal items that belonged to Joszef Pechan - a versatile and remarkable eccentric artist who left a mark on town’s history at the turn of the 20th century. Being a basis of the History of Art Collection, only a part of his paintings is on a permanent display, at the exhibition called “Joszef Pechan - at the turn of the century”. There are about twenty five oil paintings and drawings presented, alongside a single sculpture made by the artist as well as various photographs and personal items. The artworks presented can be divided into three phases: classicism (self - portraits and portraits), neoimpresionalism (nudes) and the Sarajevo phase, at the down of the First World War.
