Dora Mayer Loehrs (Germany, 1868-Lima, 1951) was not only a self-taught researcher, writer, sociologist and journalist, but also a social fighter and activist. She began in journalism around 1900, publishing articles in various newspapers. Among the issues that she addressed, we can percieve a great concern for the situation of women in society. Also, concerned about the exclusion and abuse experienced by the subaltern classes, Mayer co-founded the “Asociacion Pro-Indigena Tahuantinsuyo”, where she managed the creation of the newsletter “El Deber Pro-Indigena”. She also published sociology and philosophical-nature books, and a vast literary production, participated in international conferences and collaborated with various magazines such as “Amauta”.
