Photograph of the Ermita church located in the district of Barranco, in Lima. It is included in the album of photographic miniatures by José María Eguren from the archives of the National Library of Peru.
Initially as an adobe and quincha chapel, the construction was built in the mid-eighteenth century, where humble fishermen and travelers attended. During the War of the Pacific, it was looted and burned, being rebuilt in 1882, based on public donations. Later, it was damaged by the 1940 earthquake. Currently, the church is closed due to its deterioration.
